A new weekly Run & Yoga session supported by Sportshoes.com & Rohnisch to give you the opportunity to experience the balance of the strength & power of getting out on a run in the summer evenings paired with getting on the mat for your post run yoga stretch. The sessions will vary week by week consisting of Joe/ & Heather taking you through a short yoga warm up, then on to an estimated 3km run, and followed by a change of pace as Heather guides you through a longer yoga sequence post run. The timings of each part of the session may vary depending on the focus of the day with the possibility of the group being split into 2 giving participants the option to go for a slightly longer run (depending on the number of attendees per session). Open to all including those new to running/ yoga to more seasoned yogi’s and weathered runners(!) who want a rest day run and/ or wish to combine the delights of running & yoga. We’ve partnered up with the lovely people at online sportswear retailer & local area based business - Sportsshoes.com and Swedish sports brand - Rohnisch for the sessions.

Relax, Rejuvenate & Rebalance
This candle lit restorative yoga class is a perfect way to unwind and close out your working week so you're fully recharged & ready for the weekend ahead. In restorative yoga, otherwise known as the art of relaxation, the body is fully supported by props in passive yoga poses to gently stretch, relax and open the body, adjusting the nervous system and resting the adrenal glands to melt away physical and mental tensions and promoting deep release, rest & relaxation in the mind and body. They also assist the body’s processes of healing injuries and recovering from illness by releasing tension that would otherwise impede recovery. Taking place in a calming setting of candlelight and soothing music, this yoga class is the ideal opportunity to take your mind off your busy life & indulge yourself.
Open to all ages & abilities - No experience necessary.

A special Sunday workshop to indulge in the quiet and gentle practice of Yin Yoga and soak up the transformative power of Yoga Nidra.
Yin Yoga is a healing practice of long-held poses where muscles completely relax & surrender to allow us to access the deeper layers of the body. It works on releasing constrictions in the connective tissue, ligaments, and tendons that support the hips, pelvis and lower spine. It also stimulates & opens the energy meridians of the subtle body, often described as a “needleless acupuncture session” for the body!
This nurturing workshop will take you through a specific series of seated & supine poses. Aimed at improving joint mobility, cultivating flexibility and help you heal yourself by releasing deep seated tension, breaking up blockages and thus encouraging easier flow of energy around the body, moving you out of negative emotions. You’ll discover balance and find a deep peace in your body & mind.

After the physical part of the practice you will release yourself totally with a Yoga Nidra Meditation. Yoga Nidra, or Yogic Sleep, takes you into a deep state of relaxation & ease which shifts the nervous system to a restorative and healing mode. It brings an incredible sense of calmness, quietness, and clarity.

Yoga & Meditation In The Park

We’re going outdoors with series of Yoga In the Park events on Sunday 9th & 23rd July and 6th & 20th August in Saltaire, Yorkshire. Following the outdoor events we've held over the past couple of years we've received great feedback & requests for more of the same! Following on from the 18th June event I'm pleased to announce 4 more dates where I will once again be leading outdoor yoga & meditation in the beautiful Roberts Park, Saltaire from 10am – 11am followed by an optional pranayama & meditation session finishing around 11:30am on Sunday 9th & 23rd July and 6th & 20th August. This will be a fun energising morning class alfresco followed by pranayama (breathing techniques) & meditation - I hope you can join! We'll meet near the bandstand just before class starts.

Booking essential. Please let me know if you will be joining and whether you are bringing a mat or require me to supply one to use on the day. Mats limited. Please bring blanket, cosy socks and any props you need for meditation.

Lotus & Splits Unwrapped©
Opening Hips, Hamstrings & Quads

The next in the Yoga Unwrapped© series is a focus on unlocking tightness in your hamstrings, outer-hips, quadriceps, and hip-flexors in a wide-range of postures and help guide you on a progressive & experimental journey towards Lotus Pose & Splits.

Padmasana (Lotus Pose) is a serene looking seated pose for meditation and one you associate yoga with when you see it. And Hanumanasana (Monkey Splits) a beautiful looking position you may link with deep flexibility of the body. But with both you may also find yourself saying ‘Not in this lifetime"! When approaching them they can seem challenging, elusive & unattainable!

This workshop is an opportunity to explore them through a designed sequence to give you an understanding of the poses both anatomically & structurally and address the tightness & restrictions in the specific areas of the body and how to work more efficiently with these joints. You’ll discover its not all about not being flexible enough – there’s plenty of variations & modifications for veryone including half splits, standing splits, half lotus and more which you will learn.

We'll emphasise opening around the hips & legs to prepare them and release hidden limitations, and learn how to correctly approach these asana with greater safety, comfort, compassion and skill. A blend of dynamic & restorative work this will help your path towards it becomes clearer, more accessible and injury free.
Along with a deeper sense of understanding for Lotus & Splits, taking this time to work thoroughly into the hips will help to clear out the pent up tension & stress which is stored in this area, so you will leave the session feeling like a weight has been lifted and you can move out into your weekend with spaciousness & freedom in the body and mind.

Its all about Small yogi steps towards Lotus Pose & Splits, one giant step for your practice!
For all levels except those with serious knee or ankle injuries.

We have all had moments where our emotions have overtaken our rational mind. Where feelings of sadness, anger or grief have been so intense we’ve been unable to function. Maybe you’ve even had these feelings come to the surface during your yoga practice?

This workshop offers you ways to focus on feeling and transforming your emotional response to enable you to live a more balanced life.

I suffered with depression and anxiety for many years yet through my yoga practice i’ve come to a place where I can allow emotion to surface, release it and work with it to create a life which is fulfilling and liberating.

Using the physical practice, mudra and breathing techniques, in dynamic and restorative ways we will investigate the connection between mind and body.
