I wanted to share my personal morning routine with you, inspired by the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. This ritual has become my cornerstone for starting each day with vitality and balance.

First things first, as soon as I roll out of bed, I pop the kettle on or set a pan of water to boil. While it heats up, I grab my tongue scraper and gently cleanse my tongue to remove toxins that have built up overnight.

Next up, hydration is key! I make and drink two large glasses or mugs of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon. Sometimes, I like to add a splash of aloe vera and apple cider vinegar for an extra boost of detoxification and digestion support.

After hydrating, I move on to dry skin brushing. This invigorating practice helps stimulate lymphatic drainage and exfoliate dead skin cells, leaving my skin feeling refreshed and revitalised.

While I’m prepping my skin, I heat some oil in hot water for a soothing self-massage. I apply the warm oil generously to my skin, allowing it to soak in for about five minutes before rinsing off in the shower. This nourishing ritual not only hydrates my skin but also calms my mind and soothes my senses.

To clear my sinuses and promote respiratory health, I use a neti pot followed by breathwork exercises like Breath of Fire or Kapalabhati breathing. This helps me release any lingering congestion and energises me for the day ahead.

Last but not least, I practice oil pulling with coconut oil while I shower. Swishing the oil around in my mouth for a few minutes helps draw out toxins and promotes oral hygiene, leaving my mouth feeling fresh and clean.

This Ayurvedic morning routine has truly transformed my everyday life. It sets the tone for a day filled with energy, clarity, and vitality. I hope you find these practices as beneficial as I do! These are some of the practices we’ll be incorporating into the 40 days programme.
