BEGINNERS MIND:
AN INTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION BASICS

Meditation is an innate part of the yoga practice and available & accessible to EVERYONE. You don’t have to be practicing yoga poses to reap the benefits of this profound and time-tested practice.
If you are curious to start a meditation practice or develop an existing practice – whether you seek enhanced creativity, a respite from stress and anxiety, seek emotional and physical healing, or increase your self awareness – this course will provide a brilliant starting point and opportunity under Heather’s caring guidance.
This 6 week live programme is designed & taught by Heather and will introduce you to a mix of ancient & contemporary techniques that are simple, accessible and very effective. Offering you the opportunity to slow down, press pause and reflect within your day in the studio or from the comfort of your home. And providing a toolbox to support you with managing stress, anxiety and a busy mind, and developing your mental wellbeing & fitness through consistent practice which can be easily integrated into your daily routine. For the duration of the programme you will be with the same group providing connection and community to stay motivated and accountable.
Taking place in the Heather Yoga centre and online – each week this course offers:
- 6 x 60 minute Beginners Mind live interactive themed sessions – option to join us in studio or online – with a mix of meditation techniques and learning about the practice and the weekly focus.
- Exclusive access to guided audio meditation downloads to practice & support you between weekly sessions and anytime, anywhere.
- Access to recordings of the Beginner’s Mind sessions to return to as often as you’d like throughout the course and available to attendees for 2 months after completion.
- Email overview of the interactive sessions including some additional resources and suggested reading for further study.

During each 60 minute interactive live session we will cover:
- How to set up comfortably for meditation (sitting on the floor, using props, resting in a chair, laying down on the back).
- Why meditation is important and how to develop a consistent, sustainable, and effective practice
- Learn & Practice the basics of various meditation concepts & techniques.
- Meditation with clear and easy to understand guidance & instructions.
- Overcoming Difficulties + How & When To Practice.
- Group discussion, self-reflection exercises & journaling prompts about the weekly meditation techniques & your experiences.
By the end of this course you will have:
- Received the gifts that a consistent meditation routine offers: including reduced stress, relieving anxiety, better focus, improved sleep, calmer clearer outlook on life
- Gained knowledge, understanding and experience of accessible effective basic meditations.
- Explored a variety of techniques and identified the types you like and resonate with to support you with maintaining a regular practice
- Laid a foundation to feel comfortable and confident to attend and sit for meditation in dedicated group sessions/ as part of yoga classes/ at home.
- Developed more awareness of yourself and feel better equipped to navigate daily life situations.

About the teacher
Heather Gregg
Heather is a Registered Senior Yoga Teacher with over 4000 hours of training & teaching, and the Founder & Director of Heather Yoga – a Yoga school & wellness centre based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire. She is also a certified Transformational Life Coach.
Heather has been teaching for over 12 Years in UK & India, including being an educator for trainee teachers, and now leads her own yoga teacher training and teacher mentorship programmes. Her ongoing 19-year practice of Yoga has become an integral part of her life, and she is dedicated to this path – enjoying the exploration of body & mind wellness and heart-centered living through the powerful practices on & off the Yoga mat, and sharing her wealth of knowledge & wisdom with others to support them on their journey.
Heather has practiced & studied with many teachers including her main teachers Jason Crandell who she has studied intensively with and assisted him on his UK offerings since 2014, and Kia Miller & her Radiant Body School with whom she is has completed another 300 hours certification in Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Kriya, Meditation, Mantra & Self Mastery. She also holds an additional 100 hours meditation certificate and is a qualified transformational life coach and is passionate about combining this work with the ancient yoga practices for supporting people with their personal growth & evolution, and lifestyle. She has a keen interest in Ayurveda practices, incorporating these along with her meditation & asana in her daily morning routine & sadhana.
Heather teaches dynamic Alignment based Vinyasa & Hatha styles, along with Yin & Restorative drawing from her various influences from the different schools of yoga, the philosophical texts & the teachers she has practiced with. She also teaches specialist courses & workshops in Breathwork, Meditation, and Yogic lifestyle.
