Joining Heather Yoga beginners class has been one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. Getting back onto my mat after a 25 year absence made me realise how much i had missed Yoga and the happy feelings, feel good endorphins it releases in me.
BEGINNERS INTRODUCTION TO YOGA COURSE

6 Week Programme
Tuesday 2nd April – Tuesday 7th May 2024 | 6.45pm – 7.45pm
A comprehensive 6-week programme to explore & learn the essential fundamental aspects of Yoga. Specially designed for those new to Yoga & anyone who is curious about the foundations of the Yoga practice wishing to learn within a group environment.
Taught in a supportive, fun and engaging way under the caring guidance of your course teacher – you will gain all the basics you need to feel safe & confident in your body and on the Yoga mat!
You will be introduced to sun salutations, breathing practices (pranayama) and common postures (Asana) that show up in regular Yoga classes – including the essential anatomical alignment of Standing & Seated Poses, Twists, Balancing, Backbends and Hip Openers. Plus you’ll receive a brief introduction to the philosophy of the yoga lineage.
By the end of the course you will have created a firm foundation for you to build up a regular sustainable, safe & enjoyable yoga practice, with techniques and tools for increased strength & flexibility, better postural awareness and an ability to become calmer & quieten a mind. it will also support your physical, emotional & mental wellbeing making you more equipped to cope with the challenges of our daily lives and support you with better sleep. You’ll have the essential understanding, clarity & confidence to join weekly drop-in classes, and feel ready, motivated, and inspired to explore different styles of Yoga & teachers.
About The Teacher
After university I was not sure what I wanted to do next. I eventually decided to travel around Asia with the intention of then spending an extended period living and working in Australia. Whilst in Bali in 2017 I discovered yoga and signed up to my first yoga class, anticipating that it would enhance my active lifestyle, which included distance running. After settling in Australia I found a yoga studio and discovered that yoga enabled me to express myself by finding creativity in movement in ways which were beyond my expectations.
After my time in Australia, in 2019, I travelled to Rishikesh in India, the spiritual home of yoga, to complete a 200 hour Vinyasa & Ashtanga teacher training course. Since then I have completed further training in Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra & Mindfulness. In addition, in 2022, I completed a further 300 hour teacher training, this time in Nepal.
I always aim to inspire my students with dynamic, creative & playful sequences that demonstrate my love for music and words, providing my students with the best experience to allow them to go away from my classes feeling a little lighter with an enhanced self-connection.
Freya took things step by step, explaining everything as we went along. As well as the classes, we had the course materials and recordings so we could practice during the week.
I’d recommend it to anyone who’d like to try yoga for the first time, or get back into it gently.
I think the course was great. It was exactly what I needed to give me a kick start getting back to yoga. I’ve had several years out and always struggled with the breath work side of things, so I found it a good way that I could focus on that whilst being more comfortable with the poses.
The classes were brilliant. Kylie was fantastic and very welcoming, as were the whole group.
I learned a lot and as a result have continued to practice, signing up to the 12 month membership.
