I have been practising yoga intermittently for about 8 years, establishing a more regular, consistent practice over the past 3 years. I started yoga as a physical practice to complement other activities I was doing as a means of reducing muscle tightness & imbalance. I was hooked immediately, feeling that I had found my niche, something I loved doing, that made me feel better on every level & that I always wanted to go back for more of.
Though I was initially drawn to yoga for its physical benefits, I began to realise that it is so much more than a physical practice. Yoga philosophy, pranayama & meditation are all integral parts of Yoga & the practice as a whole has had a profoundly positive effect on all aspects of my life including my mental & emotional health & well-being.
My desire as a teacher is to enable those joining me in practice to experience the transformative power of yoga in their lives. Within a vinyasa flow practice we work through a sequence that, although dynamic & challenging at times, centres on synchronising breath & movement to provide a point of focus for the mind, creating space for self-care, self-discovery & development of skills that can be taken off the yoga mat & into daily life. I would love to share yoga with you.
Come as you are, with an open mind & heart, a willingness to be curious, playful, have fun & see where the practice leads you.
