BEGINNERS INTRODUCTION TO MODERN PILATES
Held at our Yoga Centre in Saltaire, West Yorkshire
6 Week Programme
Sundays 22nd February – Sunday 29th March 2026
4 pm – 5 pm
This structured 6-week programme introduces you to the essential foundations of Modern Pilates in a supportive group environment. Designed for complete beginners or anyone wanting to revisit the basics, it offers clear guidance, physiotherapy-based exercises, and steady weekly progression.
What is Modern Pilates?
Classical Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates, whose method “Contrology” focused on precise, structured exercises for both rehabilitation and athletic conditioning. Over time, physiotherapists and movement specialists have evolved these exercises to reflect current clinical understanding of posture, biomechanics, and safe functional movement. Modern Pilates is adaptable, accessible, and suitable for all ages and levels of ability.
About The Teacher
Esther Hobbs
Hi, I’m Esther — a 56-year-old mum of two (and two dogs!) who recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a Pilates teacher. After discovering Pilates in my early 30s while recovering from an injury, it quickly became my go-to practice for both body and mind.
What I love most about Pilates is its whole-body approach — how it strengthens key joints and muscles while bringing calm and clarity to the mind. I teach Modern Pilates, a clinical and modified version of Classical Pilates, with a few timeless classical exercises woven in for their unique benefits.
I’m especially passionate about inclusive movement and believe Pilates is for everybody. In my classes, you’ll always be offered options and adaptations so that you can work in a way that truly supports your needs.
For me, the joy of teaching lies in connection – creating a supportive community of like-minded people who enjoy moving, laughing, and growing together.
Join Esther on Wednesdays at 5:30pm for Pilates (online or in the studio) — a friendly class that welcomes both beginners and regulars alike.
