I always think of the mat as a sanctuary – an oasis in life’s troubles where you can find peace in movement and meditation. I have practiced a variety of different types of yoga for the past 30 years and have found something to enjoy in them all but I am particularly fond of flows and drills.
As a teacher I aim to help you find your own enjoyment in the practice but what I find universal among practitioners is the community it builds and how it supports not just a healthy body but also a healthy mind. It really is a great antidote to the pressures of modern life.
My main job involves sitting at a computer and long commutes and yoga has helped me not only with the pressures of my role but also the aches and pains brought on by working life. I aim to bring in movement and strengthening exercises that facilitate functional movement in a creative and fun way.
I have completed a 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training course at Heather Yoga and Menoyoga ® with Sally Parkes Yoga, both are registered with the Yoga Alliance and I am fully insured.
Practice with Cathryn on Tuesdays 5.30pm for Hatha.
