Conversation, ancient wisdom and practice for the yoga within to enhance your everyday life.

Join Heather for this introduction to key concepts and teachings from within traditional yoga philosophy. An opportunity to awaken your awareness and the relationship you have with yourself, and to understand how you can apply these practices to your modern life.

Throughout the 6 weeks we will work with different themes that show up in the guidelines from the Yoga Sutras (one of the ancient texts on Yoga) – delving into the basics of some of these key concepts and the teachings to help you get to know & understand yourself in more depth.

Self Inquiry & study is one of these key teachings from Yoga, and is the red thread throughout this course (as well as through our lifelong practice!).

The types of themes we will explore:

  • Introduction to the basics of some of the concepts from Yoga Sutras including the first 3 sutras.
  • Observing ourselves and the inner dialogue, words and behaviour
  • Intention & Attention.
  • Commitment & Discipline in action
  • Change, Acceptance & Contentment
  • Deep listening & Clarity 
  • Cleanliness & Non Judgment
  • Surrender & Non Attachment
  • Trust, Courage & Faith

Each week we’ll gather online via Zoom for teaching, conversation, and contemplation & reflection, plus a practice technique (for example short breathwork, meditation, partner work, movement). 

Between the weekly sessions, you will be given practice suggestions that are going to help you apply, integrate and embody. Without this, it’s just theory – we need to practise.

This live online programme can be taken as a great dip of the toe into some yoga philosophy as well a continuation of what you might have already explored. 

It is not an academic study course with a scholarly approach! Its is accessible and open to any level of yoga student who wishes to move beyond the physical practice, and applying the classical philosophy to how you navigate this modern human life!

  • Replays available after each session for you to rewatch via the course portal.
  • Access to the content library for one month after completing.
  • Additional resources will be shared where appropriate to enhance your learning experience.

About The Teacher

Heather Gregg

Heather is Founder & Director of Heather Yoga (a physical & online studio and school based in Saltaire, West Yorkshire which she built over 9 Years ago) and a Registered Senior Yoga Teacher and Certified Transformational Life Coach.
Heather has taught for over 12 Years in the UK & India as a dedicated yoga educator, teacher trainer and mentor – and in that time ( including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic) built & scaled her successful yoga studio, business and grown a loyal community – with a multitude of offerings including daily classes, workshops, retreats, and leading her own yoga teacher training and teacher mentorship group and 121 programmes.
