Try this drill to find strength for Chaturanga.
Chaturanga Dandasana relies hugely on the strength of our core and by practicing this posture you are challenging and strengthening those key muscles. A strong core is essential to back health and pelvic stability, two things which are key in maintaining a healthy and easeful posture when sitting, standing, walking and running.
Besides the core, Chaturanga Dandasana works the arms, chest, back, legs, wrists – you name it, it’s probably working hard to stabilise you in this advanced shape!
Heather is going to be spending 2 hours focusing entirely on this shape and the transition into and out of it in her upcoming workshop: Chaturanga Lab (Updog – Downdog). If you have been trying it in class yet not feeling crystal clear about what’s required or what could assist you on your journey, then join us for this in-depth informative workshop.
