I found my way into Yoga by following my partner into a class, which feels like a lifetime ago now. Like so many men I had no idea what Yoga actually is. I was apprehensive about going into class as I had no idea what to expect. It only took one class and I was hooked. First, it was all about the physical aspect for me, which supported my other sports like rock climbing and road cycling. In time I started to understand the mental health benefits of the practice.
When I’m not teaching Yoga, I work in fast-paced engineering. Yoga has helped me to find balance and control stressful situations a lot better. Yoga is so much more than just a practice on a mat, it can benefit us in our day-to-day life.
In my free time I like to spend us much time as possible outdoors. This could be rock climbing, or walking with my dog. I enjoy spending time with my partner on our bikes, as well as using a SUP exploring new waters and trying to perfect my headstand with the knowledge I will have a soft landing in the water if it goes wrong.
I love taking the Yoga practice outside. Outdoor meditation is one of my favourites.
Yoga shows us so many different ways to explore our body and minds. It gives us the ability to take time out for ourselves to recharge our ever so drained batteries from our day to day lives.
In 2022 I graduated from my 8-month Yoga Teacher Training at Heather Yoga. I enjoyed every minute of the training. There was so much to learn and still so much more to understand and explore. Every teacher during the process was so knowledgeable and supportive which helped me to become a confident Yoga teacher. In the process I made friends which will be close to my heart for the rest of my life.
Since I qualified, I have been busy and jumped into the deep end straight away. I teach several Yoga classes a week from Beginners courses, workshops, Yoga for climbers, cross fitters, beginners Hatha to strong Vinyasa flows. I just love teaching Yoga and bringing the practice to as many students as I can.
As a Yoga student my favourite go to classes are Ashtanga, Vinyasa & Yin Yoga classes.
