Join us for a pay as you feel donation, open Satsang with Sudhir Rishi, Director of Teacher Trainings at Sthira Yoga. With over 30 years in the fields of yoga, meditation, philosophy, and Ayurveda – including eight years as a monk – Sudhir shares deep insights from his personal journey and vast teaching experience. Having led over 200 yoga teacher trainings and countless retreats across Asia and Europe, his teachings are known for blending profound wisdom with simplicity.

This Satsang offers a space for Q&A on yoga and spiritual matters, guided by a teacher who has studied with masters, practiced diverse traditions, and lived near Sri Ramana Maharshi’s Ashram for over two decades, combining his time in the Ashram with teaching Yoga.

Come explore timeless truths, ask your questions, and connect with the joy of self-discovery.

Dandelion Cafe will be open 6-7 for you to order hot drinks to enjoy in the cafe beforehand or during the Satsang.

All are welcome. Just bring your curiosity.

This is a pay as you feel event with the option to give a cash donation at the studio. Booking is compulsory!

Meditation: Taming the mind

Thinking is not a problem. Over-thinking is a problem.

Non-thinking is not a solution. Right thinking is the solution.

Meditation is this ancient art of calming and correcting the mind.

Meditation is the art of learning to be in the present to calms the

breath and train the nervous system to stay calm amidst stressful situations.

We do not have control over the external situations but we can learn to stay calm, grounded and get necessary focus to do the right things.

In this workshop we will learn a brief but focused theory of scientific concepts of meditation and will learn to practice. There will be a take home practice and a Q & A session.

Yoga Beyond The Mat: Transforming Relationships

Yoga extends beyond physical Asana practice; it is a discipline dedicated to emotional empowerment and cognitive refinement. As defined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Yoga serves as a means to resolve internal conflicts. Ancient Indian philosophy teaches us about understanding of our inner life. It gives number of cognitive tools to resolve inner conflicts and this in turn improves outer life.

Our nervous system responds directly to our beliefs and perspectives. Ancient Indian philosophy offers various cognitive tools to help navigate our inner lives and address these conflicts, ultimately enhancing our external experiences. By resolving inner confusion, we can cultivate a more harmonious life.

In this interactive workshop, we look into some of the principles of our emotional life which can significantly transform the quality of our relationships.

There will be a short meditation and a Q&A session.

Information for Sunday Workshops:

There will be an hour lunch break 1-2pm between the two workshops. Dandelion Cafe is open on site, lunch is not included, but a pre-booked £15 fully plant based delicious lunch and herbal tea at Dandelion Cafe will be available to order. An email will be sent to confirm your booking. We cannot guarantee availability to order food on the day. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch and if we have space you can sit in the cafe, with priority given to cafe customers (we operate a plant based only policy so please respect that if you bring consumables to the Yoga centre.) There’s also plenty of cafes, takeaways and mini supermarkets in the local Saltaire & Shipley area for purchasing food.
