Maybe you relate to Cathryn’s journey?

Turning 50, moving through a bereavement, no longer enjoying her job… and feeling the pull to do something just for her.

Cathryn shares how the philosophy, taught by our wonderful teacher Sudhir Rishi, was one of the biggest parts that fascinated her most. It opened up a whole new way of understanding Yoga, beyond the physical shapes (of which Asana is only a part it), and allowed her to connect more meaningfully to the practice and to herself.

This is something we really value in our Yoga Teacher Training.

We don’t rush through the philosophy, or treat it as something secondary. It’s a foundational part of the course. It helps give context, depth and integrity to everything else you learn. It’s what helps the practice land, not just in the body, but in the way you live, think and relate.

Our training is intentionally spaced over 6 months for this reason. So you have time to absorb, reflect, question and integrate, rather than simply moving quickly from one topic to the next.

Now, a year on from graduating, Cathryn is teaching her own classes, including teaching at Heather Yoga every Tuesday 5.30pm for Hatha. Passing on the knowledge she’s learnt.

Sometimes it’s not just about becoming a teacher…It’s about deepening your understanding, reconnecting with yourself and allowing something new to unfold from there.
